Woman Seen on Video Taunting Lion at Bronx Zoo Turns Herself In: Police

Woman Seen on Video Taunting Lion at Bronx Zoo Turns Herself In: Police

The woman captured on viral video going into the lion’s enclosure at the Bronx Zoo in September has gone out like a lamb.

Myah Autry turned herself in to the NYPD in the Bronx Wednesday night, police said. She now faces two counts of criminal trespass.

According to the Daily News, the outspoken Autry has suddenly turned quiet, not telling police why she performed the strange stunt or why she finally turned herself in.

The woman spoke to reporters for the first time on October 31 after a court appearance for a shoplifting charge in Kearny, New Jersey.

Autry’s wild Halloween interaction with the media — almost as strange as her interaction with the animals at the zoo — began with her bowing to the reporters as she warmly greeted them with “shalom.”

In an often-rambling, 15-minute session outside the courthouse, Autry said her reasoning for jumping into the lion’s den was “a lot more spiritual” and that she was never afraid while she was in there.

“I fear nobody. No animal, no human, no one. So no, I wasn’t fearing of the lion because the lion loved me. That’s why he came to me and I let the lion know: Lion, I love you,” Autry said.

She said she would never have been injured by the lion, who eyed her as she seemed to dance while across a moat from the ferocious feline, because she and the animal are one.

“I am the lion now. Can’t you tell? Have you ever heard of reincarnation? Do your history young man!” she said before complimenting the reporter’s eyes and smile. “Do your history, it’s called reincarnation. I am the lion now.”

Autry refused to address the shoplifting charge, but made it clear she has no ill-will toward the NYPD.

“I love the NYPD. Hi NYPD,” she said into the camera, adding that she participated in a Police Athletic League and the DARE program for years. At the time, she did say she would turn herself in but, “I do know the law.”

“I don’t have no problem with the law. When we get together law, we will have a good time,” she said.

Autry also said she did not mean to disrespect the lion, who appeared more curious than annoyed for most of the video, before witnesses said it roared.

“I love you lion, hope they treating you right in the zoo. Know Myah love you. I didn’t mean to mistreat you or nothing,” she said. “I seen how you came to me. We connected. To the kids, respect your parents please. Your teachers. Authority.”

No word on if she has the same respect for the giraffe she was seen posing for a photo with inside its den. She did not say when she will turn herself in to the NYPD.

A woman who has known Autry for years previously told NBC New York she is worried about her.

“Myah please get help. I dont know. I don’t know what is wrong with you,” said Eunice Walton. “I feel sad because she is like like my child. She is with my daughter since high school.”

‘I Felt It in My Gut’: Sleep Eating Lands One Woman in Urgent Care

‘I Felt It in My Gut’: Sleep Eating Lands One Woman in Urgent Care

When San Diego resident Jenna Evans couldn’t find her engagement ring one morning, she looked inside herself to solve the mystery.

Evans, 29, woke up to find her engagement ring missing from her finger and her bedroom altogether. She said she checks for her ring all the time ever since her fiancé proposed in April.

“So, in case you missed it, I swallowed my engagement ring in my sleep on Tuesday night,” Evans wrote on Facebook.

She claims her fiancé told her to remove it in a dream.

“We were on a cargo train at night and it was a mission impossible kind of situation. There were bad guys and he said, ‘You have to swallow your ring.'”

She didn’t remember removing her 2.4-carat diamond ring, but she said she remembered swallowing it with a big gulp of water like a vitamin.

“I have a lot of strange dreams, so I also thought that it was probably a dream. I just went back to sleep,” Evans told NBC 7 San Diego.

“It took a while to recover from the laughing to figure out what we should do,” Evans added.

She went to urgent care, where doctors were shocked to find a diamond ring traveling through her body in an X-ray.

Doctors decided against letting “nature take its course” and referred Evans to a gastroenterologist, who promptly scheduled her for an upper endoscopy, the insertion of a small camera and device down someone’s throat.

“I could definitely feel it in my guts, it was starting to really hurt and make us nervous,” Evans said.

They found her ring sitting in her intestines just beyond her stomach.

The incident was not completely unexpected, Evans said. She has a history of sleepwalking and even doing laundry in her sleep. But she said she’s never eaten in her sleep, let alone swallowed a non-food object.

With the ring back on her finger, Evans and her fiancé Bob Howell plan on getting married in May of next year.

Evans is doing well now — in fact, she’s been laughing about it ever since. She said she plans on scheduling an appointment with a sleep specialist soon.

“I don’t have any fears that I will swallow it again. I hopefully will only achieve such greatness once,” she said.

City Issues Warning About Aggressive Wild Pigs After One Chases Woman Down the Street

City Issues Warning About Aggressive Wild Pigs After One Chases Woman Down the Street

The city of Corona has now issued what could be described as an unusual alert: Residents are being warned to watch out for wild pigs because they may become aggressive.

Resident Barbara Andrews said she had an encounter with a wild pig recently, and it took a turn.

She was walking her dog down Orange Heights Lane when she saw something strange in the bushes.

At first she didn’t know what it was, so she pulled out her phone and started recording.

“When I crossed the street next time I looked up, and there was a huge hog in front of me. And I’m trying to think, ‘what the heck is going on?'” she said.

She said her instinct was to run.

“I was afraid for my dog, and I stopped and I looked back and he was still coming so I started screaming,” she said. “I just kept running and I looked back again and he was still coming at me.”

The pig eventually went the other direction, but Andrews was so shaken up by the incident that she called animal control.

The next day officers shot the wild pig with a tranquilizer dart and brought it to Riverside County Animal Services.

“Our friends at Fish and Wildlife say that these animals tend to keep to themselves — they don’t want anything to do with us,” said John Welsh of Riverside County Animal Services.

Welsh said that pig in particular may have been aggressive because it was frightened.

But neighbors say in recent months wild pigs have become an issue in southwest Corona — so much so that Thursday the city of Corona issued an alert to residents warning people to stay away from wild pigs, especially adult pigs.

“This is a very big animal, and some of them do have tusks,” Welsh said. “And a little kid is not going to do well against a 100-pound animal when it’s charging at them, so parents should probably be on the lookout, and alert.”

Corona city officials say residents should stay calm if they see a wild pig and just slowly walk away.

That’s advice Andrews said she will take to heart if she encounters another one.

Animal control officers say wild pigs that have piglets are potentially more dangerous because they are protecting their young.

Woman and Her Teen Daughters Visit Disneyland With a Ticket She Won in 1985

Woman and Her Teen Daughters Visit Disneyland With a Ticket She Won in 1985

What to Know

  • Richardson, of Alberta, Canada, visited Disneyland with a prize ticket she won back in 1985 for the park’s 30th anniversary celebration

  • A ticket to Disneyland cost about $16 in 1985 when Richardson was 14

  • She took her two teen daughters with her on a magical day at the Anaheim theme park

More than 30 years after she was among the lucky few to win a Disneyland pass as part of a 30th anniversary giveaway at the theme park, Tamia Richardson returned to claim her prize — a day of magic with her two teen daughters.

Richardson, of Alberta, Canada, said she wasn’t sure the park would still accept the pass, which she won as a prize that went to every 30th park visitor for the 1985 anniversary celebration.

She was 14 at the time. Attractions like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the California Adventure park were still years in the making and Disneyland ticket prices were about $16.

So, it was with uncertainty that she approached the park entrance Thursday with teen daughters Mia and Maren and the aged pass that features an image of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.

“I was a little nervous because it was an old ticket,” she told the LA Times. “I was crossing my fingers.”

It didn’t take magic, just a call to a manager from the employee at the turnstile — her faded and worn three-decade-old pass was valid for entry.

When she won the prize 34 years ago, a ticket cost $16.50. That’s about 39 bucks when adjusted for inflation and a significant bargain when compared to today’s prices.

Richardson has been to Disneyland several times since that prize-winning August 1985 visit, but never thought to use the free pass. She was looking through boxes of old photos and other items when she found the it, the Times reported.

“I found it and I said, ‘I need to try to use it,'” she told the Times, adding that she planned to see everything — old favorites and new theme park stars — during her family visit.

Woman Shares Terrifying ‘Number Neighbor’ Story

Woman Shares Terrifying 'Number Neighbor' Story

A Los Angeles woman says her ‘Number Neighbor’ experience took a dark turn and now she’s warning others of the possible downsides to the latest social media game.

The woman, who only wanted to be identified as Ashley, said she wanted to play along with the online challenge, in which people text the phone number that is one off of their own number. There are thousands of examples online, and most seem to show positive interactions.

Instead of the positive response, she got death threats and terror.

The person on the other end of the text thread threatened to kill her in a series of terrifying messages, insisting that he was on his way to her house, along with videos of someone loading two different guns and more than 70 missed calls.

Ashley has filed a police report, but said she wanted to speak out to warn others that the seemingly fun “game” could have frightening repercussions.

‘Blow This Motherf—– Up’: Woman Arrested for Trashing Swedish Embassy Over A$AP Rocky’s Detention

'Blow This Motherf----- Up': Woman Arrested for Trashing Swedish Embassy Over A$AP Rocky's Detention

A woman upset over rapper A$AP Rocky’s detention in Sweden showed up at the Embassy of Sweden complex in D.C. and threatened to “blow this motherf—– up,” screamed obscenities at staff and kicked over furniture before she was arrested by the Secret Service, an affidavit obtained by the News4 I-Team shows.

Rebecca Kanter was arrested by Secret Service agents July 23, the second time she allegedly caused a disturbance at the House of Sweden at 2900 K Street NW.

In the first incident, a day earlier, Kanter allegedly threw liquid from a glass Coca-Cola bottle at the doorway and threatened to blow up the building. She then left before authorities could intervene, although the Secret Service issued a “Be on the Lookout” for her, the affidavit said.

The following afternoon, the affidavit says Kanter returned and was able to get through security. She began “cursing and screaming” at staff and a student tour group and was “making statements” about A$AP Rocky, the affidavit said.

Kanter then allegedly kicked over a teepee that was on display, as well as a coffee table in the lobby.

When ordered to leave, she sat on the floor and said, “Call the police, I’m not leaving,” the affidavit said. Secret Service officers responded and arrested her.

The affidavit also says Kanter made several posts on social media, including one that asked, “why isn’t it breaking news that I defiled the House of Sweden last night, that I vandalized the Wold Bank, that I vandalized the IMF … why aren’t I getting press for ASAP.”

Earlier this month, A$AP Rocky — who was in Sweden to perform at a music festival — and his body guards were ordered held for two weeks after being detained as police investigated a June 30 fight in downtown Stockholm.

Swedish prosecutors on Thursday charged the rapper with assault.

Videos published on social media showed someone being violently thrown onto the ground by A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers. It was not clear who else was involved. “This was a self-defense situation,” his defense lawyer Slobodan Jovicic told reporters.

As for Kanter, she’s now out on bond, but a judge ordered her to stay away from the embassy. She is facing charges of willfully injuring and damaging property of a foreign government and refusing to depart a foreign embassy.

News4 is awaiting comment from her public defender.

Kanter has a preliminary hearing July 31.
